Luggage Information

Luggage by Ferry

Transfers across to Rottnest Island can be booked through one of the three ferry operators. The ferry operators will provide luggage labels that will include both your onward and return information.

Your chosen ferry operator will produce your luggage labels with all your accommodation and travel details printed on them for both your travel to and from the Island. Your specific unit number must be hand written on any luggage labels with a permanent marker prior to loading at the ferry terminal to enable delivery to your accommodation.

Bookings made with at least 7 days advance notice of travel will have your luggage labels posted to you within Western Australia. If you make your booking with less than 7 days notice of your travel date luggage labels will need to be collected from your ferry operator at the terminal prior to your departure and a surcharge will be applied.

If your return date changes during your stay, as long as you advise your ferry operator and your destination does not change, your return labels are still valid. Alternatively replacement labels can be obtained from the Visitor Centre on the island.

On your departure from the Island your luggage will be collected from outside your gate (or the communal luggage point) at 8.00am. Guests staying on the Camping Ground will have their luggage collected at 9.00am from the communal luggage point. For those departing on a ferry leaving before 10.30am please contact the Visitor Centre 24 hours prior to arrange for an early luggage pick-up.

  • Medication and fragile items should be carried in hand luggage. Please be aware that once luggage is removed from the ferry you will not be able to access it until it has been sorted and delivered to your accommodation.

Delivery of Luggage

  • We aim to deliver your correctly labeled luggage within three hours of your arrival on Rottnest.
