Have you ever ridden a bike across water?

Pair your sense of adventure with pristine surroundings on a truly unique one-hour seabike experience on Rottnest Island.

Glide effortlessly over turquoise waters and explore the Island's hidden treasures.

Seabike tours are small, exclusive groups of no more than five people with a private guide.

Safe, stable, incredibly easy to use - seabikes are a whole lot of fun. Cruising at a leisurely pace, we hug the shoreline in the shallow waters from North Thomson Bay around to Pinky Beach. There's plenty of time to take in the incredible views, stop in front of Bathurst Lighthouse for some photos and learn all about Rottnest's unique marine environment on an eco-friendly adventure.

Bus Tours & Shuttle

Whether cycling isn't your thing or you're just keen to see the island from a different perspective, you'll love the flexibility of exploring Rottnest by bus. 


Island Explorer Hop On / Hop Off Bus 

Enjoy the island at your own pace with this scenic bus tour, jumping on and off at 19 different stops including our famous beaches, bays and attractions. Stop to climb the Wadjemup lighthouse, visit West End or just relax and take in the spectacular views from the comfort of your seat. 

Schedule:

9am to 3pm daily at 45-minute intervals.  

Tickets available for purchase from the Main Bus Stop ticket kiosk from 8:30am to 3pm daily.




Accommodation Shuttle Bus

Settle in to island life faster by taking a shuttle bus to your rooms on arrival.

Schedule:

The Accommodation Shuttle Bus operates a regular service between 7:30am and 4:45pm, Sunday to Thursday.

An extended service operates on Friday from 7:30am to 7pm.

Charter 1 Snorkel & Sailing Tours

Experience the best of Rottnest - climb aboard the iconic yellow sailing catamaran ‘Capella’ and let Charter 1 take you on a magical adventure to one of the many beautiful bays or snorkel trails situated around the island.

Visit the museums and galleries on Rottnest Island and soak up some of the local history and culture.

Rottnest Island Museum

Housed in the original old mill and haystore, it was built by Aboriginal prisoners in 1857. The museum provides fascinating insights and comprehensive information about the Island including history, marine wrecks, European settlement, Aboriginal prisoners, communication and recreations.

Please note the Rottnest Island Museum is currently closed for refurbishment.




Lomas Cottage

Located on the Heritage Common, this cottage was originally built for John Lomas, an ex-convict and later ‘Imperial Pauper’ for whom the Government provided housing and provisions.

Over the years the cottage has served many different purposes. In 1997 it was restored to its original form and now serves as an exhibition space. The cottage provides interpretive information on the intriguing life of John Lomas and houses The Angelo Collection.

The 15 photographs which comprise the Angelo Collection represent some of the most significant portraits of life on Rottnest Island in the 19th Century.

The collection contains photographs of male Aboriginal prisoners engaged in a variety of activities on Rottnest Island and are perhaps the most significant and poignant photographs of their type. 

Please note Lomas Cottage is currently closed and due to reopen in the coming months.  



Pilot Boathouse

A striking display of Rottnest's maritime history, featuring a replica pilot boat and historic photographs. Located in the seawall east of the Visitor Centre.

Please note the Pilot Boathouse is only open on special event days.

Oliver Hill Gun and Tunnel Tour

Oliver Hill is located close to the centre of Rottnest Island and features military remnants from World War II. Explore this nationally significant defence heritage site on a tour with the Rottnest Island Voluntary Guides.

The tour incorporates one of the restored World War II 9.2 inch guns and a maze of underground tunnels. Discover why they were installed on Rottnest and how they operated.

Tours are 1 hour in duration and start every hour from 10am to 2pm. There is a limit of 10 people per tour.

Ticket price: adult $9, child $4, concession $7, family $20 (2 adults and 2 children, extra child $2 each). Available for purchase from the Visitor Centre or at Oliver Hill.

From the Settlement, Oliver Hill is approximately 25 minutes by bike or 45 minutes walking.




Oliver Hill Train Ride

Enjoy a train ride from the Settlement Railway Station to Oliver Hill on the Island’s 64-seat Captain Hussey train, where you can admire the beauty of the Island’s south-side.

Paul's Eco E-Bike Tours

Level up your pedal power and see the island sights with ease on an electric bike tour.

Follow your knowledgeable guide on an electric bike tour and you'll not only coast past some of the island's most scenic views but you'll soak up some intriguing history along the way. You can also stop off to take a beach walk or swim at one of the many beautiful bays and enjoy lunch with the resident seals at the West End.

Tour includes:

  • A four-hour guided tour of the island on E-bikes (electric bikes)
  • Free bottle of water
  • Swimming or beach walk at one of the bays

Rottnest Cruises

Making memories on the water.

If you love seafood, golden sunsets or have always wanted to try your hand at fishing, a tour with Rottnest Cruises is a unique experience you will long remember.

Departing from Thomson Bay Fuel Jetty on a premium 69-ft boat, each cruise is fully inclusive. All you need to bring is your camera ... and spirit of adventure!


Deluxe 5-Course Sea-to-Plate Banquet

For lovers of seafood, the ‘Wild Seafood Experience’ is a 3-hour catch-and-dine lunch cruise, giving you the chance to catch your very own Western Rock Lobster (‘crayfish’). Rottnest Island is part of the best fishery in the world and this famous species lives in abundance in our crystal waters.

Led by expert crew, you can haul in lobster pots to catch, touch and learn about this most delicious delicacy. Then, sit back and take in stunning views of Rottnest’s coastline while your lobster is cooked for you on board.

Rottnest Island Glass Bottom Sea Kayaking Tours

Experience Rottnest’s pristine, crystal waters from above and below on a glass bottom sea kayaking tour.

Your tour will start at Pinky Beach, which is a short 10-minute walk from the Main Settlement.

Paddle into secluded bays, inaccessible to those on the land and too shallow for those on a boat. Even if you have been going to Rottnest for years, you have probably never seen it like this.

The clear floored kayaks also offer our guests a window into the world below. See colourful marine life, coral, and fascinating reef formations whilst staying (relatively) high and dry.
The tours are not hard core, wave riding, survival tours. Rather they about taking time to take in the wonders that you can see between your legs! They are suitable for ages 6 and above. Guests will be provided with a PFD (lifejacket) so you do not need to be a strong swimmer. It is rare for guests to fall in, but you should expect to get a bit wet. 

Tours are 1 hour and 15 minutes long, with roughly 1 hour on the water and time for a safety briefing. Prices start at $39 for Kids, $49 for Adults and Family Passes available.

Rottnest Air Taxi

Take a breathtaking scenic joy flight over Rottnest for a stunning aerial views of the whole Island.

Rottnest Air Taxi operates regular scheduled flights every hour during daylight hours. Flight times are around 12 minutes each way, with the option to add discounted scenic detours as well. Fly from Perth to Rottnest Island return from $99 per person for a group of five, taking you directly over Fremantle and the lower Swan, with spectacular views along the river towards Perth itself, and of course a unique perspective on Rotto as you arrive to!

Seaplane Flights

The fastest and most scenic way to get to Rottnest Island!

Take off out of the Swan River in a state of the art seaplane and enjoy panoramic views of the Perth city-scape, Kings Park and Fremantle during your scenic flight to Rottnest Island. 1½ hour Fortress Adventure

This adventure takes you off-road to some of Rottnest’s most amazing places following a brief training session. We’ll let you get to know your Segway in our off-road experience area before embarking of an amazing tour, delving into the military heritage of Rottnest and its pivotal role in the defence of Fremantle Harbour. Learn how important Rottnest Island was in defence strategy during World War II. You’ll also have time to appreciate the pristine coastline and natural environment during your tour, pausing for photographs along the way.

Wadjemup & Bathurst Lighthouses

There are two lighthouses situated on Rottnest Island.

Wadjemup Lighthouse Tour

Discover what goes on within the walls of a real working lighthouse on a tour with the Rottnest Island Voluntary Guides. 

Climb to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy the view where the sapphire Indian Ocean waters frame a stunning picture of the island.

Suitable for ages five and over.

Tours are 30 minutes in duration and run every 30 minutes from 10am to 2:30pm. There is a limit of 10 people per tour.

Located at the centre of the island, you can get to the Wadjemup Lighthouse by bike (a 15-minute ride from The Settlement), by bus or by foot via the Wadjemup Bidi walk trail.

Bathurst Lighthouse

Located on the coastline in Bathurst, this lighthouse runs automatically and is closed to visitors. Bathurst Lighthouse is a great spot to capture breathtaking sunsets over famous Pinky Beach.


Walking Tours

Be intrigued by stories of the past and discover more about our unique island on a free walking tour led by the Rottnest voluntary guides. 

The tours are free and depart daily* outside the Salt Store which is located between the Dome Cafe and The Settlement mall.
