Have you ever ridden a bike across water?

Pair your sense of adventure with pristine surroundings on a truly unique one-hour waterbike experience on Rottnest Island.

Waterbike tours are small, exclusive groups of no more than five people with a private guide.

Safe, stable, incredibly easy to use – waterbikes are a whole lot of fun. Cruising at a leisurely pace, you'll hug the shoreline in the shallow waters from North Thomson Bay around to Pinky Beach. Take in the incredible views, stop in front of Bathurst Lighthouse for some photos and learn all about Rottnest's unique marine environment on this eco-friendly adventure.

Tours depart the Aquaplay marquee located at the kiosk on the beach in Thomson Bay, between the Visitor Centre and the Pilot Boathouse, to the right as you come off the main ferry jetty.

Bus Tours

Whether cycling isn't your thing or you're just keen to see the island from a different perspective, you'll love the flexibility of exploring Rottnest Island on a bus tour.


Island Explorer Hop On / Hop Off Bus 

Enjoy the island at your own pace with this scenic bus tour, jumping on and off at 19 different stops including our famous beaches, bays and attractions. Stop to climb the Wadjemup Lighthouse, visit West End or just relax and take in the spectacular views from the comfort of your seat. 

Schedule:

Weekdays 8:30am to 4pm at 30-minute intervals.
Saturday & Sunday 8:30am to 6pm at 30-minute intervals.

Bayseeker Island Tour

This 1.75 hour island tour with commentary includes all of Rottnest’s must-see locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, the majestic look-out point at the rugged Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh. All major habitats are covered on this amazing tour, including cultural and historical heritage. The stunning, pristine environment includes 63 secluded beaches, 20 bays with crystal clear water, the iconic Quokka and more.

Schedule:

Departs daily at 10:45am and 1:45pm.

Discover Rottnest Bus Tour

This 90-minute tour visits Rottnest Island’s most spectacular locations, with insightful commentary shining a light on Rotto’s unique flora, fauna, history and culture. The bus stops at two key vantage points – Wadjemup Lighthouse and the rugged West End – where passengers can hop off, take a short walk and soak up the views. You might even meet a quokka or two along the way.

Charter 1 Snorkel & Sailing

Oliver Hill Gun & Tunnel

Oliver Hill is located close to the centre of Rottnest Island and features military remnants from World War II. Explore this nationally significant defence heritage site on a tour with the Rottnest Island Voluntary Guides.

The tour incorporates one of the restored World War II 9.2 inch guns and a maze of underground tunnels. Discover why they were installed on Rottnest and how they operated.

Please note that the Oliver Hill train service is not currently operational, so access for the tour is by foot or bike.

Paul's Eco E-Bike Tours

Level up your pedal power and see the island sights with ease on an electric bike tour.

Follow your knowledgeable guide on an electric bike tour and you'll not only coast past some of the island's most scenic views but you'll soak up some intriguing history along the way. You can also stop off to take a beach walk or swim at one of the many beautiful bays and enjoy lunch with the resident seals at the West End.

Glass Bottom Sea Kayaking Tours

Experience Rottnest Island's pristine, crystal waters from above and below on a glass bottom sea kayaking tour.

Even if you have been going to Rottnest for years, you have probably never seen it like this.

The clear floored kayaks offer you a window into the world below. See colourful marine life, coral and fascinating reef formations whilst staying (relatively) high and dry. The tours are not hard core, wave riding, survival tours. Rather they are about taking time to take in the wonders you can see underneath. 

You will be provided with a PFD (lifejacket) so you do not need to be a strong swimmer. It is rare to fall into the water, but you should expect to get a bit wet. 

Duration: 75 minutes, with roughly one hour on the water plus time for a safety briefing. 

Tours start at Pinky Beach, a short 10-minute walk from the Settlement.

Rottnest Air Taxi

Take a breathtaking scenic joy flight over Rottnest for a stunning aerial views of the whole Island.

Rottnest Air Taxi is a family owned business that has been providing joy flights over Rottnest Island for more than 25 years.

Operating at Rottnest Airport, just 900 metres from the arrival jetty, these flights are genuine value for money experiences that make a trip to Rottnest Island something special.

Flight Transfers

Rottnest Air Taxi operates regular scheduled flights every hour during daylight hours.

Flight times are around 12 minutes each way, with the option to add discounted scenic detours as well.

Scenic Joy Flight

Fortress Adventure Tour – 1½ hour

This adventure takes you off-road to some of Rottnest’s most amazing places following a brief training session. We’ll let you get to know your Segway in our off-road experience area before embarking of an amazing tour, delving into the military heritage of Rottnest and its pivotal role in the defence of Fremantle Harbour. Learn how important Rottnest Island was in defence strategy during World War II. You’ll also have time to appreciate the pristine coastline and natural environment during your tour, pausing for photographs along the way.

Walking Tours

Be intrigued by stories of the past and discover more about our unique island on a free walking tour led by the Rottnest Voluntary Guides Association (RVGA) volunteers. 

The tours are free* and depart daily* outside the Salt Store, located between the Dome Cafe and The Settlement mall. 

For all tours please bring a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, protection from the elements, closed in shoes and don't forget your camera!

See the beautiful coastline, discover the wonderful flora and fauna of the area and hear about the formation, geology and marine reserves of Rottnest Island.

This tour departs from Parker Point. Catch the 9am, 10am or 11am bus from the Settlement as this tour is subject to the bus timetable.


West End Wanderer

Navigate and learn about the natural wonders you will encounter at Rottnest’s wild West End; the Seal Colony, Cathedral Rocks, the Shearwater rookery, Fishhook Bay and more. 

A roving guide is available onsite daily from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Arrive by bus or bike and allow 30 – 45 minutes to explore this area.


Guns & Tunnels of WW2

Take a top to bottom tour from gun turret down through the tunnels to the engine room deep below.
