Pedal & Flipper Hire is the island’s premier hire facility offering a vast array of bikes including standard step-through and cross-bar bikes, electric bikes and a large selection of kids’ bikes.
You can also hire bikes with baby seats, child trailers for the little ones (12 months – 4 years), and a range of mobility assistance equipment.
The quality hire bikes are expertly maintained by a team of skilled mechanics, and backed by a complimentary call-out service for any problems you may encounter, so you can simply relax and enjoy your ride.
The Pedal & Flipper Hire team are also trained to personally fit customers to bikes to ensure optimal comfort and safety.

Please note:
- To reduce bike theft, always lock your hire bike and report incidents to Pedal & Flipper Hire.
- Damage of Pedal & Flipper Hire items by minors will be the liability of the responsible adult.
- Theft of Pedal & Flipper Hire items will be reported to the WA Police and Rottnest Island Authority Rangers.
- For the enjoyment of all visitors, anti-social behaviour is not tolerated, and appropriate actions will be taken to address any incidents.

Frequently Asked Questions
The person signing the hire agreement must be 18 years of age or over.
For full terms and conditions of hire, please check with your ferry provider or Pedal & Flipper Hire.
A refundable deposit is required for some hire items and can be paid by cash or credit card.
You must be 18 years or older to hire an e-bike. E-bikes require a refundable $200 security deposit upon collection.
Pedal & Flipper Hire offer a range of equipment to help you make the most of your visit, including snorkel sets, paddleboards and dive tanks. You can also pop in to collect a beach cricket set or a tennis racket for fun out of the water.

If you booked online, you will need to bring your credit or debit card for verification, along with your confirmation email and proof of identification.
Yes, a lock is provided and its use is strongly recommended to avoid your bike being “borrowed”.
Yes, bicycle helmets are required by law; these are supplied with all equipment hired.
Private child trailers cannot be attached to Pedal & Flipper Hire bikes.
For safety reasons, Pedal & Flipper Hire equipment is not suitable for infants under 12 months. Maximum weight restrictions apply to child trailers and baby seats.
For visitors wishing to hire child trailers and baby seat bikes, the child/children must be present when hiring so the team can provide the correct equipment.
Please contact Pedal & Flipper Hire prior to your visit if your children require training wheels on their hire bikes.
Due to the large fleet size, Pedal & Flipper Hire are not able to carry out private repairs.
