Stay Rottnest Booking Guide

Availability for stay dates up to and including August 2023 have been released.

Bookings for stay dates in September 2023 will open at 8:30am on Wednesday 4 January 2023.

How to book

In general, over 80% of successful bookings are made online within the first 30 minutes of an Open Day, so we recommend booking online. 

While you can also book by calling our reservations team on +61 1800 111 111 or visiting us at E Shed Reception in Fremantle or the Visitor Centre on the island, the simplest and most successful way is online here.

Please understand that demand for bookings will be high and not everyone will be able to secure a reservation.

Another tip

Head to our website by 8:30am on the day to join the virtual waiting room. Anyone in the virtual waiting room prior to 8:30am will be assigned a random position in the queue when bookings open, whether they joined at 6am or 8:25am. If you join after 8:30am you'll join at the back of the queue.

  • How much does it cost?

    The prices of Stay Rottnest accommodation vary based on the type of accommodation chosen, the time of year and availability.  To ensure you secure the best available price, we encourage you to book in advance.  To check prices for available accommodation, select your preferred dates, location and accommodation type click here.

  • Is there a minimum stay requirement?

    Yes, minimum night stays are required and vary according to the season.

  • How do I book accommodation?

    Stay Rottnest accommodation is available to book online, via telephone or in person at our E Shed office in Fremantle. Bookings can be made between 24 hours and 9 months in advance. We are unable to make accommodation or rental moorings bookings via email.

    A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

    Booking online is the quickest and easiest way to secure Stay Rottnest accommodation and receive instant confirmation.
    Special requests and notes are able to be placed in the booking including unit number preferences and others you may be travelling with.

  • What details do I need to make a booking?

    You will need:
    - What locations you are interested in. It is recommended that you have a preference list (e.g. top 4 locations), in case your top choices are unavailable.
    - Check-in and check-out date
    - Type of accommodation ie. view or no view
    - Number of bedrooms
    - Contact details, including mobile number and email
    - Credit card details

  • How do I hire extra items, e.g. cots, high chairs, heaters?

    If you require additional items, you can complete one of the Hire Items Booking Forms.

    Please use one of the below forms based on your planned stay on the island:

    Contact Stay Rottnest at least 48 hours prior to arrival for hire items. Default set up is 1 king size bed per unit with remaining rooms configured as twins. Requests for alternative configurations must be received at least 7 days prior to arrival.

    Guests staying in Stay Rottnest Accommodation wishing to hire adult pedal bikes are eligible for a discounted rate if booked at least 24 hours in advance through the Reservations team on 1800 111 111.

  • Can I alter or cancel my booking?

    Yes, however cancellations and modifications, either in part or in full, will incur a cancellation fee dependant on the amount of notice you give us and the product and services that you have purchased.

  • Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

    Yes, bookings may be transferred to another key holder with a least 24 hours written notice. The registered guest must be over 18 years of age and spend each night in the accommodation for the duration of the booking. Photo identification will be required when the key is collected.

  • When do I find out my unit number?

    Your accommodation number will be emailed to you approximately 3 weeks prior to your arrival date.

  • Is there a shuttle to our accommodation?

    There is a Shuttle Bus to Geordie Bay, Longreach Bay, Fays Bay and Kingstown Barracks. A small fee applies per person of $3 per day or $5 per week. Children under 5 years travel free. 

  • What do I do when I arrive?

    Getting to Rottnest Island in Western Australia (WA) is easy, with various transport options close to the State’s capital, Perth; you can take a ferry, plane or your own boat.
