4 minutes

As the warmer weather settles in for the season, you’re invited to indulge a little longer on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.

Sit back and savour the remaining warmth of the setting sun over the Indian Ocean. This season, there’s no rush to depart. Instead, late-night ferry services will make the journey back to the mainland as late as 9 pm, leaving you with a little more time to end your day at these island favourites.

EASE INTO THE EVENING

Enjoy your extended island hours with a tipple or two. Whether you’re after some drinks, tasty bites or heartier fare, these venues have something to suit all tastes.

The drinks offering at Bayside Bar includes colourful cocktails that match the dreamy hues of a late afternoon sky. All your favourites including beer, wines and spirits also make appearances on the bespoke menu.

The Mezz on Rotto

The vibes at The Mezz on Rotto are unassuming and always welcoming. Tasty, barbeque tapas are the main attraction, best paired with a cold beer or a handcrafted cocktail. Work up an appetite for more shared plates or stay and observe the distant glow of the mainland until the final ferry departs.

As cute and cuddly as they may seem, it’s important to remember that they are wild animals. You are visiting their home, so rather than approach, simply observe them from a respectable distance.

Geordie’s Café & Art Gallery

With spacious seating and daily specials, everyone’s welcome at Geordie's Cafe & Art Gallery. Let the little ones release the last of their energy on the nearby playground before tucking into signature dishes like lamb shanks and pork belly.
