Embark on your Wadjemup / Rottnest Island voyage from Perth’s northern suburbs on a spacious, high-speed catamaran.

Rottnest Fast Ferries is the only ferry service from Hillarys Boat Harbour, operating daily and seven days a week.

Upon boarding the Harbour Master or Voyager, get set for a smooth and spacious ride. These high-speed catamarans will take you from Hillarys to Rottnest Island in a brisk 45 minutes, giving you time to soak up the sun on the outdoor deck or cool off inside in air-conditioned comfort.

Travel over on a day trip or choose to extend your stay overnight. Your island experience can be enhanced with package add-ons including bike hire, tours and more. 

Parking at Hillarys Boat Harbour is plentiful and free of charge. Alternatively, complimentary hotel transfer service is provided from the Perth CBD and Northbridge area, Crown Resorts precinct and Scarborough.

Service dogs are also permitted on all ferry services, however, please contact the Rottnest Island rangers on (+61 8) 9372 9788 prior to travel as the island is a protected Class A Reserve.

Where to find Rottnest Fast Ferries

Ferries arrive at the main jetty in Thomson Bay, which is a few hundred metres from the Visitor Centre, and a few minutes by foot or bike to other island amenities.

When you travel with Rottnest Fast Ferries, you can get to the island in approximately 45 minutes (Hillarys to Rottnest Island).
It is highly recommended to book online in advance to secure your seats. In peak times, including summer months, weekends and school holidays, tickets can sell out quickly.
Tickets may be available on the day prior to departure, subject to availability.
Rottnest Fast Ferries departs from the northern end of the Hillarys Boat Harbour at the dock located behind The Breakwater bar and restaurant. 

Their ticketing office is located at the southwest end of the precinct, facing Southside Drive.

This fee is collected by ferry operators on behalf of the Rottnest Island Authority and contributes to the provision of island facilities.

All visitors are required to pay an admission fee. Visitors arriving by ferry pay this fee as part of their fare at the time of booking.
